I suppose if it was a problem with the camera, the scratches would be
likely to be in the same place on the negative.

My Photographer friend who bought the black M6 with the non ASPH 35
Friday night has run a roll of T400Cn  through a minlab having them make
4by6 prints. Most of them had scratches which has led him to be all set
to bring the camera back. He might have done so.
