I have both the older version and also the asph version.  Needless to say,
in terms of sharpness, the asph is better but noticeable only if  you
really want to compare their pics side by side.  In other words if there
was no Asph around, you'd be quite happy shooting with the old one.

The Bokeh is a different matter.  The older version outshines the asph in
this attribute.

I use the older version 9 out of 10 times.
