Apparently, selenium toning significantly extends the life of fibre based
prints.  Gold also - but this is something of an expensive option.

I can't help you much on storage, but one of the keys is to avoid storage
media with acid.

Of course, if you want true archivability, there's no substitute for
platinum printing...
