How accurate your meter is depends on how accurate you are with your
meter. You MUST test any meter to determine it accuracy. Shoot the kind
of film you normally do...if you use different films test them all cause
50 velvia aint and E100sw is if ya know what I mean...use your normal lab
then meter THE SAME WAY every time for accurate (or nearly so depending
on the quality of your lab and how tight they keep their lines) readings.

For this an incident meter is best as you can meter the same way every
time. and with a little practice it is as quick as in camera metering.

Oh and don't forget to bracket when ever possible. If you pull a snip be
dern sure you do it and run the rest on the same day.

Another thing......it often seems to me that people are always trying new
films. I don't understand this. I use the same film all the time. I
learn it. I know what it will do in what circumstances. I know what to
expect. I never try a new film on a paying shoot. Pick a film and marry
it. Learn its flaws, strengths, and exploit both to get the image you
want.
