I don't know offhand what the film-to-flange distances are for Nikon F and
Leica R. It should be at least possible to go from the longer-distance
one to the shorter-distance one. Also, the aperture rings move in
opposite directions (right?) so an adapter that provided for anything
but stop-down metering would have to be pretty clever, no?

Someone must have looked into this. I love my M6s, but as far as SLR
bodies go I prefer my Nikons. I have as yet found Leica R bodies to
be unconvincing. Henry would like to see a Nikon F5 with Leica lenses,
I would prefer to use an F2.

As far as adapting lesnes to other mounts are concnerned: what kind of
handy person should I be looking for? A photo-buff who knows how to
operate a metal lathe? I saw a web-site which featured a Nikon 28PC
lens adapted to a bellows so it could be used as a tilt-shift lens.
That sounds like a capital idea, but how does one go about doing that?

Byron.
