Henry Ambrose obviously solved the problem the proper way. All the talk
about rubbing compound, crok-us cloth, sand paper, was a bit much. If your
camera is out of warranty, you can replace the pressure plate yourself. I
did on an M2. I simply ordered the part, when it arrived, I installed it.
