Ah, a wordsmith who likes to know the origin of words! I'll endeavor to look
it up! It makes my oxters all sweaty knowing that I am not alone in pursuing
the unusual English word!
Equally off topic, have you read the book- "The professor and the madman"
about the enormaous task of compiling the Oxford English Dictionary?
Fascinating!
