[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Good Afternoon, Non Leica, but 100% photography: Many of you are black & white enthusiasts and this latest SAAB convertible advertising (the one with a tree by a lake, the tree leaves all white, and rather unusual tonal scale, probably at sunrise ) deserves further attention: darn dramatic advertising statement if "dramatic" ever can mean anything positive... What's your best opinion ? 1/ Was it infra red done right ? 2/ Or a deep green X2 filter with photochemistry tweaking, most probably zone system photography, by some super star technician ? 3/ Was a polarizer also used ? 4/ Was it 4" x 5", or is it too close to call ? A Leica could do this sort of stuff, do you not agree ? 5/ New to me: could it be infra-red PLUS zone system photography combined ??? 6/ Naturally this question arises: what focal length was it ??? OR 7/ just plain X1 green with a Ilford IR ??? The shot is very static and "composed" as few I've seen, but it's a 9.7 / 10 on all counts where I'm concerned, "even if" it is "only" black & white ... To me, if I may, the static pose, seems to try to convey a degree of serenity or inner quietude as "sensitive string" ? I also happen to think this unusual shot tries, successfully, to appeal to subconscious "trigger zones" of the mind.
