I went back and looked at the Ebay posting for this camera. It looks to me
like the seller never stated absolutely that he was selling a IIIg. He put a
question mark after the model and he said that he had been told at a camera
store that it was a IIIg. If you bid based on the seller's representation
you are obligating yourself to buy as described unless you've made other
arrangements with the seller prior to placing your bid. In every
transaction, Ebay encourages a prospective bidder to contact the seller to
resolve any questions before placing their bid. If you were set in having to
have a IIIg, there certainly was enough question here to warrant some
clarification before bidding. if you bid based on this sellers description,
I think you were bidding on a camera that might be a IIIg - not that was
guaranteed to be a IIIg.
