Subject: [Leica] Macro-Elmarit-R question

I have been looking for the 60mm for my "new" SL2. Yesterday I saw one
in Fieldgrass & Gale's stocklist for £400, including the extension tube
14198. So far so good. Except that Eastland says in the "Leica R
Compendium" that "...the tube facilitates full auto diaphragm function
but must be connected to the lens with both lens aperture and scale on
tube set to f/22." Does this mean that the tube/lens combination can
only be USED at f/22, or is it just when mounting the rig that the lens
must be stopped down all the way?

A related question: can the newer Macro Adapter R be used on the SL2?

TIA.

Nathan
