I agree with Paul's experience -- and his possible diagnosis, but with a
slightly different spin. The earlier non-VC Aristo units, one of which sits
in my Omega D2, have a separate circuit that operates a heating device that
is located above the fluorescent tube set. If the heater is not on and well
warmed up, the intensity and consistency of the cold light are both at risk.

Oh, and make sure you turn off the heater when you finish using the
