I had two times bad display on the back. the led showed strange patterns just after closing the back. I put the camera on off, opened the back and cleaned softly the contacts between body and back. It worked. Leica said me that there had been problems with electrostatic shield in the early series, improved later, and mine (always according to Leica) doesn't come from one of these early ones. So, before any panics, think to clean, or never touch the contacts. I didn't send the body to leica for this, because after that, it functionned flawlessly I will post advice if I encounter other problems Greg
