If you are in the US, call Dave at Leica Parts- he sent me a couple for an
R4 and an R3 that I had- that is the foam around the window!
The foam around the doors of cameras ( don't recall doing the Leicas!, but a
bunch of Nikons!)can be gotten with or without adhesive from Fargo
Enterprises.

Hi Alex

My R4 is suffering from the same problem, I haven't obtained new seals yet
but if you can get the seals, maybe by mail, it should be a fairly easy job
to replace them yourself.

With some care, a pin, a fine pair of tweezers and some light solvent on a
cotton wool bud the old seals can be cleaned off without a problem, new
seals should go back on without any trouble. I used lens cleaner instead of
solvent to remove the old sticky backing, I had it to hand and its safer
(although less effective), if you do use solvent be careful around the film
window, solvent may react with the plastic.

I am waiting on a dealer for a price for new seals.
