Do you mean rotating the plug 180 degrees? I didn't specifically try that,
but I did test it on the F4 to make sure I had the polarity right, and I
also made sure the sizes on the plugs corresponded, so I'm confident I had
the polarity right. I'll try that tomorrow anyway, just to see.
I'm kinda thinking it's a voltage thing, 'cause neither regulator works but
the hotshoe does, and that it just came back from servicing for that and
they said they couldn't find the problem.

Thanks though, I'll fiddle around with the polarity.

None of this was a problem for my R5 though, which happily fired the
strobes away...
