Leica is so far 'behind the curve' in the pro SLR
market, that they do not have the time or money needed
to develop a new product.  The only hope they have in
that market segment is to adapt another manufactures
product to the Leica line...the Minolta Maxxum 9, for
example.

As for making an R8.2...if you have a less than
successful product, it is not wise to carry that name
foreword to the new product.
