The Summarit is not a "Dog". If you have a decent lens, in good optical
condition you will not be able to discern the pictures from those made with
any other good lens. This is certainly evident if you shoot B & W.

People suffer today with "Technological Insecurity". Must have the latest,
newest, most bells and whistles etc. Darn, I bought that 24MM lens. If I
would only have bought the 21 MM I could take great photos.

The older lenses and cameras are fine, open any contemporary photo
publication and they are still publishing the old stuff as examples of fine
photography. Most of the LUG members are amateurs and do not make 20 X40
enlargements and therefore don't really need the absolute top quality of the
latest lens technology. I have new lenses and old ones, all are in first
rate optical and mechanical condition. I use a particular for a particular
job, keeping the shortcomings of each in mind. If I only had my Summarit and
no other lens I could live with it and be happy.

The most important thing is to go out and take pictures!!!
