Hi Bud,

I haven't heard anyone make this suggestion, so I'll toss it into the
ring.

I've had some great type R prints (direct prints from color slides)
made by the Slideprinter, in Denver, CO.

The type R's that I've had made locally (by a "pro" lab) aren't worth
the effort/$$$, but the ones that the Slideprinter has done for me are
great. They're also reasonably priced. The only downside is that you
have to send your originals out to them, which always makes me nervous
and sounds like it'd drive Jim Brick nuts.

Here's the contact info:

   The Slideprinter
            lab: (303) 698-2962
            lab: PO Box 9506
		 Denver, CO 80209-9969
          notes: Excellent type-R printer.
