Robert -
I have done tens of thousands of sports photos and still wish to compliment
you on your work. I prefer the rangefinder (of all things) to the R when
photographing indoor sports (esp. basketball) because the "decisive moment"
is easier to capture. The shutter lapse is almost nil with the M, and, while
fast, still behind the moment with the R series. While it may be that I am
just still able to see the action while the shutter is tripping that makes me
perfer the M, I still have the confidence in it for that type of work. It is
obvious you have that presence of mind to trip the shutter at just the peak
time. I know we have lots of shots which end up (or should end up) in the
trash can, but if you take into account that the average National Geographic
article is the cull of nearly 300 rolls of film ( yes, 300), then we don't do
so bad. Anyay, I prefer the R for just about everything else. With
basketball season coming up again, I'm looking forward to using my Noctilux
under the bucket. It is just plain fun to grab those pix.

Anyway, enough rambling. Good work.
