Possibly, if purchased in the late 30's. Could be anything from a
non-standardized leica I to leica IIIC to anything in between!

I just bought a really impressive photo essay book of the work of Mica
Bar-Am, who used a Leica to record 50 years of Israeli history.

If you find it, I recommend it.

He writes that his first camera, a "1930's Leica" changed his life.
Probably a IIIc, don't you think?

This is a classic example of what good work is about.
