Black and white film development and contact printing is very easy and a
very affordable form of photography. If you don't have a darkroom, perhaps
you have a bathroom that has no windows. Put a towel by the door seam and
turn the outer lights off. Load your film. If you are new to rolling film,
blow a roll and practice loading with your eyes shut. You process stuff at
68 degrees. You don't need nothing more than a plastic dish washing tub to
keep your chemistry at same temp. Just add warm water when too cold and and
cold when too hot. Black and white developing at 70 degrees is easy...at
higher temps you would need to buy better gear. If you don't want
enlargments, you could get a film scanner to put the images into digital for
under $1000, plus the computer you probably already have! Or better still
get used enlarger...there are plenty out there.

Above all don't fret because you THINK you can't develop black and white
yourself. An excellent reference guide are the Kodak Darkroom dataguides
and their online resources. If any of you have questions re development,
ask...
