Ray,

I don't think it is a good idea to have a filter on the lens all the
time. You always run some small risk of image degradation or flare, and
that is not why you bought all this expensive Leica glass, is it? You
should put on a filter when you are shooting in conditions specifically
requiring it (for example, you want to darken a blue sky); otherwise,
leave it off.
