So last week a friend of mine says to me, "can you come take some photos
of me at the last dress rehersal for my play?" and I say (sigh), "sure."
So I toddle down to the theater with my M6 to watch the last dress
rehersal for the Rocky Horror Show. Which itself ain't so bad, but in my
untoward youth I saw the movie more than a hundred times, so it's worn
very thin.... Before the show the director says to me "Your friend asked
you to take pictures of her, and it's okay if you take pictures of her
during scenes's when she's on stage alone, but the other actors have asked
that you not photograph when they're on stage because of the distracting
noise of the camera." (and I'm thinking, "what's it giong to be like when
there are two hundred people in the audience screaming 'CASTLES DON'T HAVE
PHONES AxxxxxE!'") so the play starts, I snap a couple pictures of my
friend and you can't hear a _thing_ if there's any noise at all on stage.
So I'm thinking "what the heck." and I shoot the whole production and no
one is the wiser because the camera is so dang quiet. After the show,
everyone says "aw, dang, i really wish i had some pictures of _me_ -- this
blows. i hadn't thought that I don't have any photos of me in fishnets and
a leather teddy for my scrapbook." and I'm like, "well, actually you
do...." Immediately I'm real popular. the shots came out very well too....
