I think I messed up this email to the LUG. Sorry. here it is again.

camera for financial reasons. Etiher my M3 and a 50mm f2 lens or my G1
with the 28, 45 and 90mm lens. I love the Leica, but have three lenses
for the G. Should I be patient, and hang on to the M3 and hopefully
buy some more Leica glass later or keep the G1 and the glass for now?
What would you do? This is not meant to start a debate between the
which is better, I like them both. I am just stuck and could use som
advice.

Mike:
I had the G1 and the same 3 lenses. I didn't like autofocus. (I had used a
Nikon F3 for about 10 years). I shot about 50 rolls in the year I had the
G1. I then sold it to get a Leica. I now have an M6 with 28, 50 and 90mm
lenses. I'm much happier. I also was kind of slow in editing and printing
the rolls (I do fine art photography). So after I sold the G1 and Zeiss
lenses I finally got to see what I gave up. I did have wasted shots but the
quality of the good photos when enlarged was wonderful. Since you don't seem
to have trouble with the autofocus and the viewfinder, I'd opt to keep those
three excellent Zeiss lenses. I, too, would find it very difficult not to
have access to a wide angle and a portrait lens. Good luck with your
decision. I'm always regretting my parted-with cameras. And I seem to
discover how good the lenses were that I gave up a year or two later when I
finally make 11 x 14 prints...
