And Konica Hexar RF pricing will likely make it an either/or decision (electronic assists vs. mechanical) rather than best of both worlds. But shouldn't Leica be creating its own market. In contrast, the Cosina Bessa RF may not last a lifetime, but will add desirable modern functions as it brings new vitality to a whole slew of screw mount lenses-a great marriage of affordable new and worthwhile old. Dealers with stocks of screw mount lenses, whether Leica, Canon or Soviet/Ukraine, should be drooling. Look at RFs in general; there have always been and are design and use distinctions that express themselves in the types of images produced. On the other hand, SLRs really are pretty much alike. It took Canon, with recent technology, to came up with something "no one else has" in the form of eye-controlled focus (for better or worse) and image stabilization. In fact, too bad the pellicle mirror didn't work out-Canon again. Leica can remain the best and brightest in a traditional mode, a la Rolls Royce. It could also be an innovator.
