Subject: [Leica] Is there any doubt that "Sometning is Wrong"

Hi Gang,

For the past three of four days now, there has been an
almost unending stream of complaints against Leica and
serious questions about the company, it's products,
pricing and future. And all of these are from
hard-core Leica users...and Leica loyalists.

Most of the posts have been about specific complaints
that members have, rather than people just blowing off
steam. Complaints that appear to be shared by others
and many of a long standing nature.

Despite what you have read on this group, it is my
understanding that Leica Solms (better known as Mother
Leica) and Leica USA, DO NOT read the LUG and
discourage employees from doing so. (Most German
companies do not welcome outside opinions. Of course
there are exceptions, so put your flame throwers
away).

The LUG has a little over a thousand members right
now, all of whom receive these posts and most of whom,
I would assume, read these posts (if they don't read
them why would they clutter up their mail box with
them?). I wonder if the LUG members who do more
reading of the LUG than posting to it share the anger
and concerns that have been expressed in the past few
days. If so, Mother Leica is in deeper do-do than I
have originally thought.

My second question is, does anyone ever make there
concerns known to Mother Leica by sending them (her)
e-mail via their (her) website? (
http://www.leica-camera.com and then just click on
Mail). Or, does anyone ever copy a posts that
reflects there views and foreword it to Mother Leica
via her web site? Or, does anyone have a direct
e-mail address for Leica Solms (Mom)?

If you send them an e-mail, don't expect a reply,
because I have been told that they are not answering a
lot of e-mail these days. But, I sure someone is
reading it. On the other hand, I have heard from
people who have sent e-mail and FAXes addressed to
Hans-Peter Cohn outlining problems that they were
having with a dealer, distributor, or product and have
had their specific problem acted on immediately. But,
still, never received a reply from Solms directly.

Maybe they are living in their own little world over
there. Maybe enough e-mail will bring results. Then
again, maybe not.

Regards,

Bill Erfurth
