What kind of crap is this? Obviously someone who knows NOTHING about =
the G series contax cameras. They are definately not "point and shoot". =
They are worthy rangefinders that require some concept of photography =
to make them work properly.=20

Errr... Can you tell what will be in focus or out of focus? Can =
you set focus by DOF? No? You mean that you have to trust the camera =
(even in its "manual" mode)? In my book, that makes it a point and =
shoot... a damn fine one to be sure, but nothing that I could ever get =
comfortable with. The "G" series always looked to me like it was an =
extention of the "T" series as compared to a "true" rangefinder...

The lenses are comparable to Leica lenses in most situations and the =
finish and functioning is intuitive to one who knows photography. They =
don't even offer "full automated" function-- you have to set at least =
the aperature, etc. I have shot many many cameras, both old and new, =
and only a few approach the "feel" of an M6, but the G series cameras =
are one... Kpeters

True, fit and finish are pretty good, but the camera is =
distancing... In other words, the camera is *always* making at least =
some of the decisions for me, and that makes me feel as though I'm not =
part of the process any longer... I have a feeling that this is the =
primary rap with Leica "M" shooters, not the potential image quality.=20
