Its true, unlike many here I take photos. Yes, I do not care about the mechanical aspects about rangefinder to lens couplings, but the original question seems to have escaped you crude editing. What I asked was "Have you guys seen the new zoom for the Contax G? Neat! I wonder if Leica would be able to duplicate something like this for their Ms?" Nothing to do with the rangefinder in the camera Frank. Nice try! I wish people would just stop trying to attack each other on this list when someone asks a simple question. I have learned to curb my comments, yet others don't. Its ashame how this list has become a nest of ants and anything other than a red dot gets attacked much like ants attacking a foreign invader who dares to enter their nest. Enjoy your Leicas, take photos, collect cameras, but for those individual that fall into the nest category, even the finest equipment will not make you a better photographer. For that comes from the soul, something a few of you seem to be missing. Peter K "Had enough" - -----Original Message----- From: Frank Dernie [mailto:FrankDernie@compuserve.com] Sent: Friday, December 17, 1999 6:47 AM To: INTERNET:leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] G Zoom - Contax can do it and Leica can't! Peter K asked the question "In the Contax they dynaically move the frame lines as you zoom. I guess it was stupid for me to assume that Leica would have such technology or could adapt to it." and later answered it himself by adding "Personally, I do not care to read about their mechanical rangefinder and understanding the operation." He went on to write "All I like to do it take photographs as people are suppose to do with cameras." why then not get on with it and give up on what he does not care to understand? Frustrated Frank
