Why don't I buy a 135mm f4.5? Because my primary application for this lens is 
indoors -- documentary photojournalism and general meeting/association-type 
photography. Sorry, I didn't mention that in my original post -- My mistake. 
I suspect that if I buy a 135mm f 2.8 I will use it at 2.8 some 90 percent of 
the time. With that being said, what is the general opinion of the Elmarit 
used wide open?
