Having worked my way into "pro" status, I can say it isn't all it's cracked up to be, but I love it! You didn't say what type of work you were interested in? For what I do (commercial advertising-mostly studio, and film) I've learned a few things: - - You spend more times on the business side than shooting. - - Have a spouse w/ a day job when you are starting out . - - Lots of competition. - - It's who you know. - - You'll shoot a lot more of boring crap than cool stuff. - - Learn to like daytime TV. Sorry if this sounds so negative, but most people think being a "photographer" is like what they see on TV. Having vented I will say I can't imagine doing anything else:) Mark Rutledge
