Most lists like this become meaningless unless you also state what your
evaluation criteria are.  You could compile many "camera of the century"
lists, all ranked in terms of importance, but unless you know what makes one
camera more important than another, the list itself becomes rather
meaningless.

Besides, there is also the error in trying to express qualitative values
(what makes something good, why it is important, etc.) as quantitative
values (rank no.).

The most important camera of the century: The first one I owned.  The first
one that I could use and from which I could see pictures I've taken.  No
other camera has had more influence on my photography than that one.

Of course, I'll be accused of being egocentric, which apart from being true,
perfectly illustrated the point I was making above ;)
