Kindly called together by our own Dan Khong, our group met for lunch at, of all places, the hospital restaurant at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. Present were Dan, Lee YZ, TM Lee, Ng Tong Leng, Paul Huang, David Lum, Dennis Thong, Malcolm McCalley and myself. It was really nice and interesting to finally meet LUGgers so close to home. One of the highlights was when we were treated to some beautiful photographs taken by Dan and David, which inspired a few of us to 'get out there and burn film.' There was a small collection of Leica M bodies and lenses as well as Tom's Rapidwinder and softreleases as well as a couple of Voigtlander lenses. Apologies to TM who brought the only R7, but I'm sure everyone was surprised how much we could talk about owning and using Leica stuff. Malcolm showed us his Leica 8mm movie camera which I'm certain none of us, save Malcolm himself, knew very much about. Food was okay, I suppose, for a hospital. We were all much more interested in getting to know one another and sharing advice and stories. Finally, Dan had to rush off for an urgent operation, and the group had unanimously appointed him our local 'chairman' in absentia. Dan, are you reading this? Dan, thank you for getting our little group together and allowing us to meet and share. Networking, I was saying, is so important nowadays. Terence Singapore
