Running out of a part for production and repair stocks are different issues. Parts supply is a big part of a manufacturing business--I know because I get a ride to the train in the evenings with the guy who orders parts for our sister company, a large manufacturing concern. Any ordinary business would have a policy about parts to set aside for repair stocks, but Leica in particular has a reputation for keeping products repairable until long after most cameramakers would have given up on the idea--so I can't imagine they don't have a good supply of repair parts for a major core product (the M6 "classic") that was just discontinued within the last couple of years. If there are delays in your camera repair, it probably has to do with other factors. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. - --Mike
