What I have to say anyway is my new second body is a TTL and it has the same set of batteries it had in it 4 months ago when I bought it. I've put about 30 rolls of film though it. I'm afraid to mention this out loud. My M6 which I have had for almost 7 years does need to be turned to B when I am not using it and does seem to need batteries every month or so especially if I leave it on. I've left the TTL on by the way and it's supposed to be worse for that than the older model SO THEY SAY. I love both my M6's. I use them. I own them. I put much film through them. Neither camera has ever been in the shop for longer than five minutes. My first M6 I've dropped numerous times onto all kinds of surfaces, the sidewalk included. They take a licking and keep on ticking!!!! I know I use them. Gandy/Johnson have a million fine points for us about the problems of the M6 camera they don't own or use. But this they know from all kinds of reputable experts. I'm much more interested in hearing about the fine points of my camera negative or positive from people who use them. The factory workers all thought the M3 DS was the best Leica The repairman might like the "build" of the M4. But who is out using these cameras day in and day out? Us Leica users that's who. And if some of the stuff inside my cameras is punched out instead of diecast I don't care they still work as they have always worked. Mark Rabiner
