According to what I remember reading in a book by Paul Fussell called "Class"
(strangely enough)
	USA "class" double date (pre PC)

Low class (he calls them "Prole's"):
	Men sit in the front, women in the back.
Middle class:
	Couple A in front, Couple B in back
Upper class:
	Couple A Guy sits with couple B Gal in front.
	Couple A Gal sits with couple B Guy in back.

Super presumptuous but not bad!!!
