Yeo•man, n. 1. Generally, anybody acting servile while dressed in a
silly suit; may presently include any employee of a large retail store
with his or her name stitched on the left breast of a brightly colored
polyester vest or smock. 2. Esp. at the Vatican, a guy with a pike.
Watch him. 3. Slang. Casual greeting used by young black males. 4.
Outdated British term that even educated Americans evidently don't know
the meaning of.

Serf, n. 1. Any member of a servile, feudal class of people bound to the
land and owned by a master; i.e., homeowner who holds job in order to
pay a mortgage.
