This way I can see that it is turning even in dark circumstances. I believe this is a Tom Abrahamsson recommendation so I give credit where it's due. Also, I was having loading problems with my M6 using the Rapidwinder without the basket. After I transferred the basket from the original baseplate to the Rapidwinder I simply put the tip of the leader into the middle of the take-up spool, attach the baseplate/winder and crank off a couple frames while watching the rewind crank. Seems to work great.
