Hi All...

I will be accompanying my wife on an upcoming business trip to Vienna,
Austria towards the end of March. Since she will be in meetings the entire
time and it is my first venture off the North American continent, I have
several questions to put forth.

- - Does Austria have any rules about tripod usage? I've read all about the
problems elsewhere in Europe, but haven't seen anything specific to Vienna.
If there is a issue with big tripods, what about the smaller table tripods?

- - We will be flying from the DC metro area, through Frankfurt, and arriving
in Vienna. I was thinking of taking my own film, but after reading all the
earlier posts about problems with customs and x-ray issues, would it be
smarter to purchase the film in Vienna? What about processing?

- - I'm planning on taking both the Leica IIIf and the M3 with a 25mm, 35mm,
50mm and a 135mm so I can shoot mono and color. Do I need proof of
ownership or insurance documents to show to customs?

- - I will be wearing non-descript clothing and carrying a non-descript camera
bag. Is there anything I should be aware of regarding theft prevention, or
trying to fit in with the locals?

- - I saw the earlier posting of the Vienna Leica Shop URL from someone and
plan to stop by it and see what is available. Are there LUG members there?
And if so, would it be possible to get together at some point?

- - From what I have heard from my wife, we will not be renting a car, so I'll
be dependant on public transportation. I plan on doing lots of shooting in
the city itself, but am wondering what is readily available outside of the
urban area. Since I am more interested in landscapes, what would some of
the must see sites include and what would be the best way to get to them?

Thanks in advance!
