Julian - Obviously the only way to answer this question is totally
subjectively. I find the 28 a bit too wide to be a good "normal" lens, and
not nearly wide enough to be wide. The 35, on the other hand, will do most
of what a 50 will do and yet allows you to get a good bit of "environment"
in your picture. The 75 is quite dear...but then - God forgive me - there is
the new Voigtlander/Cosina 75 2.5, which is reputed to be quite good and is
not at all expensive...That is if you don't want a 90..

I'd love the 35/75 but I can't afford the 75!! I'm trying to find the best
deal on a couple of M4-Ps together with a couple of lenses. I'm finding that
with the leicas I'm borrowing at the moment I'm getting in closer than I
have done with slrs. I've used a 35/85 for years - but the 28/50 seems to
sit better for me with the leicas (or maybe a 35/50!!). I think when I find
somewhere that has what i want in on the day I'm set to buy, I'll do
whatever is available.
