Nathan,
I think it IS 'Messsucher', where 'Mess' stands for 'measuring' (the distance)
and '-sucher' stands for 'finder' (finding the exact frame of the picture).
The screw mount models had a viewfinder and a SEPARATE range meter. The
combination of both gave the name for the M.
