With all due respect David, you may be agonizing just a bit too much.  Let
your need for a particular focal length and what you need for a maximum
aperture be your guide.  It has been my experience that you can buy any of
the later or latest Leica lenses with confidence.  From a technical
viewpoint they will not disappoint you.

Since you already have a 50mm, get the 35 and start making photographs!
