[Leica] questions about motor drive for R8

Hi,

I just have some questions about the motor drive for the R8:

- - When one pull out the advance lever, is the drive disconnected, so as one
can manually advance the film, as with the winder?

- - When done so, are the two shutter release of the drive always functionning
or are they shut down also?

This interest me a lot as I find the R8 exessively comfortable with the
drive, but lacking some handgrip without it, this without wanting to have
the film advanced automatically all the time.

If some of you have acquired this piece, I would be pleased to have your
results
