Subject: [Leica] Voigtlander Prominent

While cleaning out his father in law's house, a friend of mine found
a Voitlander Prominent camera. It is fitted with a Nokton 1:1.5/50.
I don't see a serial number on the camera. The lens has the number
3837xxx. It says Synchro-Compur on the shutter speed ring, which
sits behind the lens. Shutter speed goes from B to 500. Speeds are
like my early M3- 5, 10, 25, 50, etc Film advance is similar to the
thread mount Leicas. Focusing is done with with a dial on the top
left side, which I find to be pretty awkward. The camera appears to
be well made and in good condition.

Can anyone tell me anything about this camera? How old is it? How
does it compare to a Leica. Judging by recent discussions (that I've
not really followed closely) the lens at least seems to be reasonably
well regarded.

Any information would be much appreciated.
