Hi Daniel,

I am presently looking for the same thing as you are.
I want to scan quite a big amount of slides wich are for the most part (at
least 80%) Kodachrome I have taken over the last 25 years.

The other negs I want to scan are b&w (T-Max, Tri-X, Agfa). Again this is
in great quantity. All of them in 35mm.

I have read a few articles in various magazines and on the Internet about that.
I also want to use these scans on my website.

For this purpose, my choice will probably be the Canon FS2710. I have read
an interesting review of this film scanner in December 99 Shutterbug
magazine.

It seems to work very well with Kodachrome and black & white (which is not
necessarily the case with Nikon scanners). I also have a review of
different scanners from Popular Phothog. At the time the Canon FS2710
didn't exist but if I remember well, the HP was not very good.

The best one would probably be the Polaroid scanner but it is more expensive.
The Canon sells for +-$500.

I brought a few Kodachrome to the dealer where I would buy this scanner. I
am now waiting for the scans to compare with the slides.
If the result is good, I will go for it.

Regards,

Jacques Leonard
