The 135/2.8 lenses I have used worked fine with no vertical misalignment at
all. I assume that when the camera is used with a lens with no optical
viewing unit that the rangefinder's vertical alignment is good. It sounds to
me that the optical viewing unit needs adjusting. I have a copy of the
relevant manual sections I could send you but personally I would have it
checked by an experienced Leica tech who can make sure the lens is
collimated correctly. I just bought a user 135 Hektor with the correct lens
mount (I checked) and still I had to have it collimated! The good (insert
deity of choice) only knows what these lenses have been through before we
get them.
