The problem lies not with reporting a possible crime. It should be the duty
of the citizenry to protect one another (remember Kitty Genovese in NY?).

The problem is the Rambos. Instead of investigating and determining if
indeed a crime has been committed, the police overreact - and in a way act
as judge, jury, and executioner. "Innocent until found guilty" is
propaganda and a bunch of crap. Incarceration and exorbitant bail demands
before the trial are a form of punishment just as tightening handcuffs on
the wrists until it cuts the circulation is a form of torture.

Unfortunately we have come to the point where the COPs see it as "us against
them". When is the last time you saw a "Community Oriented Police"?

The police have been handed enormous powers to use at their discretion in
most situations, all thanks to pandering politicians who need to show that
they are "tough on crime".
Don't get me started.

Now, where did I leave that UV filter?
