I suggest you buy a $1.99 slotted "precision screwdriver"
at Sears (40 x 2.5 mm, total length about 4 or 5 inches,
small red cap on the end).  Use a couple pliers to bend
the shaft roughly 90 degrees, about an inch from the
slotted tip.  With a knife or a straight shaft you're not
likely to be able to apply enough force in the right places
because getting in there just isn't easy.

While you're at it, buy a $3 "FERNCO" Qwik-Cap model
QC-101, 1 and 1/2 inch diameter, at Home Depot's plumbing 
section for your 50/2 Summicron-M and you're good to go.
Spend all the money you saved on some rolls of film and 
go shoot!
