Jim:

I seem to agree with you on a lot of issues.  This one in particular.   I
followed the recommendation of Mark Rabiner and purchased the 24mm aspheric
and it has become one of my most used.  The sharpness, contrast and color
rendition are outstanding.    I purchased the viewfinder but have not used
it a great deal.
