[Leica] Trip to Tuscany-Italy

Hans,

I spent a couple weeks in Tuscany last September - October.  A few days
in Pienza, a week in an apartment near Siena and a week in a villa south
of Montalcino.  It was awesome.

The early light is especially nice in the vineyards and olive groves.
Many valleys are filled with fog.  The high point was a visit to Sant
Antimo a church started in 731 by Charlemagne.   South and east on
Montalcino. If you go, plan on early or mid morning light.  And do stay
for one of their many services.  The monks come out in their white
cossacks and chant the 15 minute service.  I felt Like I was floating
through time and space, totally disconnected with earth and now.

Take your Noctilux for inside cathedrals. Also good for inside
wineries.   And take a long lens for those ever present vistas.  You can
set up your tripod and make 10  -- 20 images from one spot.

I took my M6 with 21, 35 and 50mm, my R7 with 19, 28-70, 70-210 and
350mm lenses.  I used everything.  I wish I had a Noctilux and will get
one before the next trip to Europe.
