Thanks for the prod Buzz :-)

A couple of missed points:

1) While wedding photogs do not get that much respect around here, it is an
incredibly difficult job. Photographic abilities are not particularly
important, you practice until you get the hang of it. It is not rocket
science people!. However, people management skills and absolute anal
attention to details are far more important. You cannot fix the child with
their tongue out or the bride with the fallen hair do in the darkroom. You
may be able to do something on the computer but not and make money as well.
When people ask me to photograph at their wedding, I only agree if there is
a pro involved as well. Let them have the worry and the work, I want to have
fun.

2) Beg, badger and cajole, by any means possible, the bride and groom to
have their portraits (together and apart) done the week before. I insisted
on this when my delightful wife and I were married and she has thanked me
for it ever since.
