Hi,

you can not use the SF 20 with the M3 without an adapter .
The adapter costs you here in Germany about 10 Dollars and it is like a
little hot shoe with a X-cord.
You just put it between the camera and the flash, then there is no problem
with it. Works fine.

P.S. You can use the adapter also with a slave and set the SF 20 as a side
light (i.e.)
